Screw Grommets

A screw grommet is a nylon insert that sits in a square or round panel hole and gives a self-tapping screw something to bite into. As the screw goes in, the grommet spreads behind the panel. You will find them on number plate brackets, inner guard liners, mud flaps, grilles and under-trays.

What size do I need?

Check three things: the shape and size of the panel hole, the length of the grommet body, and the screw size it takes. Many of our product pages list the flange size, body size and centre hole from the photo. Our article screw grommets: what they do and how to size them walks through it.

Screws and clips that go with grommets

Use a self-tapping screw that suits the grommet. We also sell automotive screws and speed clips, which do a similar job on a panel edge.

Common questions

Can I put a bigger screw in a worn grommet?

It may split the grommet or the panel. Fitting a new grommet is the better fix.

Do white and black grommets differ?

Only in colour in most cases. Choose by size first.
