Finding clips for your car make
Quick answer: Start with the clip type, then look for products that name your make, then confirm the size against your old clip. Many clips are used across several makes, so the size and shape matter more than the brand name.

Many of our products name the make they are listed for, such as Toyota, Holden, Ford, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Hyundai, Subaru, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, BMW and Volkswagen. That is a good starting point, but the same make can use many different clips, and some clips are used across several makes.

Step 1: find the clip type

Work out what kind of clip it is: a push pin rivet clip, a scrivet, a Christmas tree clip, a trim or moulding clip, a trim retainer, a screw grommet or a speed clip. Our article rivet clips vs scrivets helps with the most common mix-up.

Step 2: narrow by make

In that category, look for products that name your make. Toyota owners can also browse Toyota body flare clips.

Step 3: match the size

Compare the head, stem and length with your old clip. Sizes are listed on most product pages. See how to measure a car clip.

Step 4: ask if unsure

If two products look close, call us on 0499 001004 with the make, model, year and where the clip goes, or with your measurements.

Makes named in our range

These are the makes named in our product titles, with the number of products for each. A product not named for your make may still fit, so always check the sizes.

What to have ready before you search

  • Make, model and year: clips can change between model updates of the same car.
  • Where the clip goes: door card, bumper, liner, sill, grille or engine bay.
  • The old clip, or a photo of it: side-on, next to a ruler.
  • Three measurements: head, stem and length, as shown in our measuring guide.

Why one clip can fit several makes

Car makers often use the same clip suppliers and the same standard hole sizes, so a clip sold for one make often fits others. Our product titles name the makes we know a clip is used on, but that list is not complete. If the shape and sizes match your old clip, it is worth considering even when your make is not named.

Where to start by make

Toyota owners can start with our Toyota flare clip guide, which compares colours and sizes. For door cards on any make, see the door trim panel clip guide, and for liners and bumpers, the bumper and wheel arch guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do clips change between model years?

Sometimes. A facelift or new model can use different clips, so check the sizes even if a clip is listed for your make.

My make is not listed. Can you still help?

Yes. Many clips are shared between makes. Measure your old clip and compare it with the sizes, or call 0499 001004.
